Testimonials

The Slate tiles we have in our dining and kitchen area had very old solvents that no other company was able to remove. The job your team did to reseal my kitchen floors was excellent. Much appreciated and recommended to others.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs » Sealing Stone Floors

  • Q: How can I tell if my stone surface is sealed?
  • A: There is a simple test that can be performed in order for you to check if your stone, concrete or tiled floor has been sealed correctly, this is called the water test. Pour a little water onto the surface and level out with your finger and observe. If the water is absorbed then your surface is in need of sealing as soon as possible. However, if the water turns into small balls and is repelled then your surface has been sealed.

Other FAQs :

  • Q: How do I maintain my floors after they have been cleaned / sealed?
  • A: The technician who carries out your cleaning/sealing will be able to offer maintenance advice specific to your tiled area. As a general rule we recommend the use of a mild cleaner at least weekly to maintain you tiled floors. Tiles with a textured surface may benefit from the use of a doodlebug rather than a mop for a more effective clean. Avoid the use of harsh chemicals which will decrease the life expectancy of sealers. Also when mopping make sure to change you water frequently otherwise all you might achieve is spreading dirty water around your floors!
    • Q: If I seal my grout, will it stay clean?
    • A: No - not without the correct cleaning. Grout is the low point and often the most porous part of the wall or floor, and gathers the grime and residue from mopping. Sealing your grout makes it easier to keep clean. With a good grout sealer or colourant, you will get a much better result when you give your grout a good clean with the correct cleaner.
